Is this disabling just a temporary measure while you fix things up, or is the search feature taking another vacation to save space? If the choice is between the search feature and another pruning, by all means ditch search, but I did find the feature extremely useful in digging up old topics I knew existed yet would be a pain to dig up manually... :shrug:
