Once, I was playing SMB3 and I had gotten to world 7. In the middle of one of the levels, the power went out. A few weeks later, I had gotten to the middle of world 8, when the power went out again. I tried it a couple days later, and had gotten to bowser and was about to beat him, when the power went out AGAIN!!! I gave up playing for a while, but eventually played it again and FINALLY BEAT IT!

lol, I've seen that happen before. Happening once is a bit annoying, but happeneing twice in the mattter of a few days? That's gotta suck

if you want to zoom right ahead to world 8, use this trick

Get the whistle in 1-3 (from the white block to the finish)
then, get the whistle in the first challenge castle (flying over the BoomBoom(?) door)

use the first whistle, then use the second one while in the world select screen.

Good luck!

Heh, it happens to many people. I've heard of some who've had it worse than you, consider yourself lucky. So if you know there is a chance of a possible power outage, don't play. Well, it's unavoidable sort of, but...

I know about the whistle trick, I just like to beat it going all the way through it without cheating.

Yeah, the whistle trick is the short way to beat the game. Some of us actually prefer the long way, as it's more enjoyable :).

And I agree with Samson ;).

The whistle trick is actully bad because you miss out on all the cool powerups you get to find when not using it.

oh.. i thought you had never beaten it before, and wanted to do it that way.

The REST of the game rocks. The shit is beating bowser w/ the hammer suit on. Excellent to say the least.

You don't need to beat Bowser with a hammer suit. You can use Fireballs, 30 of them and he's dead. Or, just let him smash through the bricks to his doom.

I thought the only way to beat bowser was by making him fall through the blocks. Is the fireball way easier?

Not exactly. But the easiest way is with the Hammers from the hammer brother suit. 5 will kill him.

Ever get to the top score of Tetris, then your Game Boy dies? Sucks, don'it?

The hardest part of Super Mario Bros. 3 for me was the "mini-fortress" in World 8. I got frustrated trying to get past it, so I saved a Jugem's Cloud every time I played just to move past it. It's moments like this that annoy us all.

Yeah, that level sucked ass the first time through, but now it's dead easy for me. No cloud needed! :D Just practice a few times, and you'll get it right.

The first couple times I played it I had to use a cloud, but once you play through it a couple times, it gets easier.

l always just let Bowser kill himself. I don't wanna have to get up, so I just throw sugar at him, and he gets hyper and boom.

But yeah, its stupid cuz in the first Mario Bros, I beat it like a week after we got it way back, like ten or eleven years ago. But it was so much harder to get to Bowser than to beat him. It didn't make sense.

Well, if that's the way you want it, screw it and have Bowser be next-to-impossible. Remember, the NES still was limited in enemy capibilities.
