Looks like a photoshop to me; the paws and head are just a little bit too large; a little smaller and it would have me convinced.

erm.... It could very well be real. A lot of people who have cats with really thick fur have it trimmed or shaved because they are prone to getting knots in their fur, which are TERRIBLE to try and get out. I know, I used to have a cat like that.

My grandparents have a main coon cat (the ones with really thick, long fur) and the person who trims it's fur asked them last time they were there if they wanted a "lion" cut....shaved all around the body except for a "mane" type of fur left around the head.

So you see....that picture could be real. I feel sorry for the poor cat if it is. ;)

... It looks extremely photoshopped. Yes, people do this to cats/dogs, but not in this instance. The bottom of the paws where it meets the ground and the bottom of the head where it lines up with the skin seem very cropped.

I once saw a big dog with its hair trimmed with the exception of the head and legs, looked like a miniature pony. =O

My parents tried to shave our cat once. They did it because he was a long haired cat that spent most of his time outdoors, and his fur would get all kinds of knots in it. Ever tried to make a cat do something it didn't want to do? The cat didn't very well like geting a hair cut. So by the time the fiasco was over, the humans were scratched and the cat ened up looking like a poodle, something like the picture above. Poor cat, but he sure was funny to look at! And so's that picture, real or not.
