Does anybody know of a place where I can download the Microsoft SDK for Java 4.0? It's been taken out of the Microsoft website, but I need it for a project I am working on.

Have you tried here yet (http://www.download.com)? When you get to the site type the thing you want to try and find in the search box.

I am a bit confused. I am a java programmer and I am using Sun Microsystems Java 1.4.1.0

I am not familiar with a Microsoft SDK or a Java Version 4.0.

Are you sure there is a java 4.0?

If you can't find what you are looking for, http://java.sun.com will have everything you need to start programming Java.

If you want to avoid notepad, you should try www.texpad.com or www.bluej.org. Both of these are good tools for writing object oriented code, especially BlueJ which has a visual interface that shows classes and class inheritance/usage.

Yeah thats what i thought as well?

Though i've only been doing java for 1/2 a year.

My university recommends BlueJ and also JCreator found at http://www.jcreator.com
both can be used for free.

From download.com
The Microsoft SDK for Java 4.0 is the developer kit for the Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 environment. Tools, information, and samples are provided to help you develop Java programs and applets based on JDK 1.1 and the Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft VM) optimized for the Microsoft Win32 API.So, if I'm not mistaken, that actually makes it J#. Or maybe J++. as old as it is. So 4.0 doesn't refer to the Java version...

Thanks for clearing that up Saffith.
