And oh, a review came in of the japanese veersion which I thought was interesting.

Remarkably, they say that it is in NO WAY KIDDY, that it's really a step up from OoT. And the only graphical problem with the game is the fact that when you travel from island to island, you leave an island and it turns into a low polycount replica. It's a nice feature that eliminates loading time and allows one to see a lot further, but you can't help noticing it.

That island mip-mapping thing sounds like an advanced version of the Super Mario Sunshine method of seeing to the next area; What you saw was actually a loose decoy, and it became apparent if you tried to use the Turbo Nozzle to get close enough.
The difference here is that apparently, Wind Waker actually subs in the actual area when you're there.
