Freeform dungeons have several differences.

In my opinion the biggest key difference is that the border combos are not automatically treated as overhead tiles, allowing you to make "rooms" which span multiple screens without the need for doors. Kinda like a LttP dungeon.

Please note that any permanent triggers are still treated like temporary triggers, as per the dungeon coding.
