To make my desktop rain?
I don't know how, or if its even possible, but if anyone has an idea, I'd love to hear it.

If you mean animated rain, then probably not. If you can set a gif as your background, it still probably won't be animated. If you mean a picture of rain, then yes. Try a Google.com Image search for rain.

Ive seen programs that make your background "ripple" like water
so im sure that raining could be scripted
look for something @ downloads.com

On win 98 i used a animated gif as desktop, but you had to have active desktop enabled, and that can make things run slow if your pc isn't 'good'. And let me tell you, my old pc was KRAP witha capital K.
Of course my guess is that you mean a layering tool of somekind for windows, I havent seen anything like that recently, sorry Ibis.

Sure, it's possible. Dunno of any program to do it, but I recall a program which put a string of blinking christmas lights around the edge of the desktop. Actually it was on top of all windows.

Windows XP, with it's built in support for layered alpha-transparent windows should make rain relatively simple.
