I don't know about WAVs or MP3s, but you could get the NSF (Nintendo Sound File) at Zophar's Domain (http://www.zophar.net). You need to get a plugin for Winamp to play it, though, but you'll also find it at Zophar's Domain (http://www.zophar.net).

The NSF file is ripped for the ROM and contains all the music from the game it's ripped from.

And from there you can make wavs that can be converted to mp3. Problem solved.

*shudder* midis... ewww..

I prefer the original nsf or spc files... Can't beat the originals, except for possibly remixes. http://remix.overclocked.org/ Some of the stuff they have there kicks ass.

That's stuffs cool and all, but I can't put midi's on my cd's and I really don't wanna install anymore software. I was just wondering if anome knew where I could get the songs from the cartridge in non-midi format, perferrably mp3. Can anyone change the NSF file type to mpe or wav? or mp2, mp1, or realaudio will be hime.

I believe in Winamp there's an output plugin that record the songs as wav files.

Yeah, Winamp will do it in WAV and Windows Media Player formats.

-Download the plugin from www.zophar.net like mentioned above to play NES music files on Winamp.
-Go into the Winamp Preferences, choose output. Look for a Wav output. Choose the settings you want for recording on the Wav output.
- Just play the music file in your Winamp play list and it will record quickly to a Wav file.

I got the file, winamp and th plugin. Now how do I make a decent rip of the music? I need to know how to delete all the other songs I don't need.

You can't delete songs from the NSF you don't need. Not without 6502 ASM knowledge.

Just play the music with wav disk writer for each song.

It's either that or try to find a FF1 official Soundtrack, and with the recent PSX releases, that may be better.
