I'm trying to set up the new sprites (such as the ripples of water when Link walks in shallow water), but they don't seem to respond to the animation settings I supply. Can someone explain what animation properties these have?

Yeah sure. I think I understand. The ripple uses two tiles. It cuts the tiles in half. The first animation is on the top of the first tile, the second is the bottom of that tile and the third is the top of the second tile. The grass and flower cuts the tiles into four peices. Each corner. Then in the animation, each corner will "sputter" when the slash hit it. I think that makes sense.
