I was thinking earlier today. does Nintendo hate ZC? I mean it is sorta like using one of their products. (not that I have anything aginst ZC) How come they don't just destroy all these forums with ZC in them?

ZCN was moved to another url. The url is here: h*ttp://64.191.20.176/forums/in*dex.php?s= Take out the *'s as I'm not advertising and thus don't want to link to the site.

As for writing a story on ZC, interesting move if I'd say so. If you need a history of Zelda Classic, I believe there is one on www.zelda.classic.com.

I think you're thinking of AZC, which closed because of the site that hosted it, not Nintendo.

Yeah, it was because they had a Z3 ROM.

And just for kicks, I think they were also closed because they had a ChronoTrigger Rom. That might also have added the proverbial salt to the wound, or something like that.

In the end, it all ends up being about the money. :disgust:

I remember one of the famous Nintendo people, perhaps the one that created Zelda, said about emulator/roms, he's actually glad people still enjoy their old games. I think, as a freeware stance, the creator if no longer profiting off it, may be flattered people liked their work so much, esspecially when it comes to fan projects. If someone liked it so much they duplicated/made a simliar game for other fans.

Anyways, as long as ZC remains a Freeware Fan Game, Nintendo likely won't have any problem with it.

Yeah,Mottzilla is right. The production of such cartidge stopped sicne abou 1991-1992 (In fact, each time a new console goes out, they stop the production of the earlier one). And seeing how many people stil play their, they must be very proud of it.

well the catch now is the LttP sets that are coming out... of course, people still don't buy the product, but its technically still copyright infringement...

I think ZC may be good for Nintendo because people who get a taste for the classic are more apt to buy the new stuff. I may be wrong.

At any rate, Nintendo isn't losing any money off it.

A second point, ZC has gone in a slightly different direction than Nintendo's Zelda. Some of the new enemies, for example, are not to be found in any Zelda game. The differences, though they be minor, are nonetheless original to our beloved programmers.
