How do users go up in rank? I've been on the forum for a month and I've seen tons of people go up in rank, but I'm still considered a :newbie:! I know this has probably been asked before, but can someone please tell me? I would like to go up in rank a little so that people take what I say more seriously.

By posting. Just make sure you post meaningfully and not for the sole reason to move up in rank.

Most people won't judge you based on your rank, though. There are lots of posters here who have spiffy, high-post ranks, but post little but spam. There are also posters who still have blue stars, but are well-respected.

In short, you earn respect for what you say, not how much you say. (Although it is admittedly nice to move past the "newcomer" rank... :kawaii: )

I think it takes somewhere between 50-100 posts to move up past the first star...
And ya it isn't the stars that count... Although my posts suck so im kinda the invisible guy.

Also, the more meaningful of the debate is between post content and time on the board. If you start some good topics, you will be praised for that, and not just meaningless crap. It'll take some time, as it did w/ myself

Okay. That's cool. I'm glad I'm being judged on what I say, not how much or how long ago I joined. I'm glad so many people were willing to answer my question.

Some people have been here more than a year and are still considered newbies... at least by me.

Just be sure not to post just because you "want to see your name fill up the 'Last post made by' box" ;)

But at least you spelled it right. Unlike Alex-kun. :kawaii:

then maybe you should take a minute to read responses to the topics before you hit "reply". three posts above yours, mr.cow linked you to the thread in Official Announcements that explained the star/rank system. you're not likely to win friends and influence people by ignoring posts and making yourself look stupid.
