Meh. I'm not sure if making this a poll would be a good idea. How many choices would it have to have, :odd: you know? So I think it's better this way.

Me, I don't work with shops a lot. When I need to do a shop, it tends to revolve either around totally necessary quest items, or simple rejuvination (I hope that's how you spell it.) items, like small magic pots, blue medicines for low low prices, ( ;) )and bombs. Or I would have some molblin selling the magic book he stole out of the dungeon's main treasure area for a high price just to cheese Link.

Molblins.

For quests where you have to use a super bomb on certain areas (Like mine), it's always good to have at least one shop selling super bombs in case you screw up with one you got for free.

My shops usually have odd items. In Unification, the potion shops also sold a super bomb. That's where I got "Here are some life restoring potions to buy and a super bomb to make you use them" from.

There are rare times I sell a crucial item in a quest. When I do, it requires you to be dirty rich and there is usually a free alternative if you look hard enough.

Anyways, I put usable items like bombs, magic, and potions. I've considered putting a free 200 rupies in a very-well-hidden shop before though. :blah:

In an older version of Unification 2, I accidentally put a 5 rupee piece on sell for 10 rupees.

I put everything into shops! My whole quest is surrounded on currency. You can buy swords, armor, candles, bombs, and even some items you don't need(such as Noodles and Porno). I even sell heart and magic containers!:D

Noodles and Porno? Referring to the two misc. items I take it? Anyway, (Man! I say that a lot, don't I?) for some reason Bait seems to be an appropriate "shop item" (or in my case, a pepperoni pizza. Yum!) :eat:

I always put in a single heart or a small or large magic jar container as the 'middle' item in EVERY shop. Because you never know when a player may need a heart or two or a quick magic refill. The other two items are based on where the show is located, what is needed to reach it and what is nearby that can be activated from the items bought. As for a potion shop, its always been: blue potion, super bomb, red potion. Always.

And that's funny Nick, a 5 rupee piece for 10 rupees! LOL

This one time, I put 3 fairys in a shop.. it was cool cause they all flew around. yeah ok.

normally.. hmm... well simple things that can be found, although I was a fan of the Eckland Mall in that quest.. that was a good idea.

Yeah, that was a pretty good mall. They had the 200 rupee piece selling for $100. That was really cool. Except for the fact that I was able to get in there before I had the hammer.

As to the Super Bomb thing, I personally believe that they should be casual items, or at least twice the price of regular bombs. I mean, how rare should a super bomb be? All you have to do is make it a bit larger to accomodate the extra gunpowder needed. So that's why I have a bomb shop with one for 25 rupees right at the start. Don't think so? Well remember that in most quests you can only hold 2 super bombs unless the designer decides to let you hold more.

Hehe, there was a member named Alpro that made a really good quest with a nice classic tileset a long while back in 2001, and he put 3 fairies in his shop with all different prices with a long string..you had to keep your eye on the least expensive one..;)

Wow. That would be a really great idea. And imagine a hidden shop that sells rupees, and the more rupees you have, the more you can get. For example, a 5 rupee piece would cost 4 ruppes, therefore actually giving you 1. And a 20 piece rupee would cost 16, giving you 4, and a 200 piece rupee, as done in Eckel's quest, would cost 100, therefore giving you 100. I really liked this idea, so I've hidden it somewhere in my head for later use.

Yes, I was using miscellaneous Items. :D Too bad for the people who don't pay attention to what their doing! They'll just waste their money.

And I feel that the super bomb is rare for a reason. I sell it for 100 rupies because I use superbombs to unlock secrets and for a few other reasons. They have a larger explosion with more damage, which helps to kill darknuts before the hammer is retrieved, and they can kill link if he has anything under red armor and seven heart containers. (8 damage to green, 4 to blue, 2 to red, 1 to gold; I think.)

hmm I like putting magic and hearts. You really need to have magic, you never get any of it when you kill enemies. Some, but not enough... :shakeno:

the rupee thing, yeah :D I love that one. Make a rupee worth 1 and make it a 200. Thats fun.

Heh heh. And make them look the same. :sly: .......

I never really understood putting hearts in a shop. Heart container pieces, for exorbitant prices, THAT, I can understand. But hearts? Seems a little..... petty, :odd: don't you think?

But I've just probably never needed them before, so I wouldn't see their significance, although I do understand what you're going for.
