what does "misc. type" do in the item sprite editor and what do each of the check boxes do (like V-flip, for example)? if misc. type doesnt do anything, then what is it intended to do in the future?

misc is just the header for miscellaneous items, like boomerang sparkles and hammer hits. its nothing special.

as for the V-flip, it just flips the tiles vertically, so if you had an arrow up and down, it would be down and up... :kawaii:

Here are the ones that I know.

1 (when used for swords) makes the sword beam explosion sprite flicker using the "FlshCset" color.

3 (when used for swords) makes the sword beam explosion sprite flicker using the "FlshCset" color, and it uses 2 frames.

45 (when used for magic or fireballs with "AutoFlsh" on) It makes them cycle through 3 different Csets.

no i mean that when you actually go into the editor and choose your item (in the same box and v-flip and such), theres an option to enter in a # next to "misc type:"...its underneath a. frames, a. speed, flash and flash Cset (not necessarily in that order).

oh sorry... its like the special thing that knows what item it is for.. like the fire boomerang, you have to input the correct misc type so it doesn't keep doing the animation over and over and over again, clogging up the screen.
