I think it takes every single tile off the picture or tiles you are viewing in the grap option. pretty sure.

That's right. It will turn the entire picture into tiles. If you have the discard option on then it will only take tiles that are different from eachother. Anything that looks the same, even if it is reversed (I think) will be discarded.
