too late...

Edit: But then again... I'm on aol broadband... and it's starting to get slow...

Dude, get broadband. The last time I've seen a connection that slow was on my 286's internal modem, what, at least a decade ago?

And broadband shouldn't be much more expensive than AOL's bloated rates. Then again, if your neighborhood isn't connected, you're screwed.

Get real broadband, not AOL. Its worth talking your parents out of AOL.

That's 7.0, and I have 400 mHz, 384 MB RAM, and a 15 GB harddrive. It's working better for now...

You know a comapny sucks when they advertise 24/7 on TV with people saying how cool it is. I use a phone company MTS dsl. I might go with Shaw though.

Exactly. Just like MSN. A good ISP sells itself. A better one doesn't have to sell itself, because it's free.

Wow, I'm glad my parents NEVER wanted AOL because the long distance would be way too much money. We use Bayou DSL (on this comp) and it's almost instant and never disconnects. On the other comp. we have Bayou 56k which is pretty fast for dial up. :)

Out here in the boonies (Columbus, OH) we tend to hate AOL and use it's cousin, Roadrunner. It's like AOL Broadband, I've heard, except it's better.

And less crappy.

And not AOL.

Call your phone company and ask them if they offer DSL. If you have SBC they most certainly do. It's most likely better than AOL though you can never be sure. However you can be sure if you bitch and whine enough they will fix it.

I've got 6.0 :(
It's actually not as bad as people make it out to be, although I only get it to say about 52000bps (56k modem).
