There is a way to get one more pallet.
All you have to do is set up a pallet cycling thingy but make all the colors the same and there you go more colors to work with.:D
*edit*Go to my web site to see the pic just go to the bottom of my main page.:)
Which can be found here (http://www.geocities.com/zoraman2001/index.html?1040546143337)

How does this gat you another cset? Doesn't this just end up overwriting another cset already in use?

I'm confused..... never been good with palettes, but I'm getting better. :) Please explain.

oh your prayers have been answered, and you don't need cycling at all... in beta 180, all 12 colors are implemented for combo drawing instead of just 6. cool, huh?

Get it? :)

Oh, it uses the level palettes? I thought it used the 3 level palettes and the other 9 were from the main palette...... =/

Well Dark, I don't see why you're grimacing. The 180 setup is exactly how pre 180 versions are, except that you can go up to cset 12 on any specific palette.

What's the problem that you're seeing?

ok.. maybe I can re-explain this as well.. kinda like tag-team time..

palettes 2,3,4 and 9 of the Level palettes are in use. the others - 0,1,5,7,8,10, and 11, are from the Main palette. What am I missing? 6 is Link's palette, and it changes during ring colors, so it will use the extra sprite palettes when they change. (I'm about 32% sure about that)

Yeah that's right. You used to only be able to draw using csets 0-5, unless you used the cset2 value to push that number up so that 6-11 were available. But now you don't have to do that as you can draw all 13 workable csets (csets 13-15 are reserved for bosses and the gui).

Actually... the boss and the gui should only take up 2 csets (1 apiece). Someone want to remind me what the other one is for?

A quick aside:
Many people kinda ignore csets 0, 1, 10, and 11 because no enemies use them and they cannot change from dmap to dmap. However, they are very useful. If you have an area that uses up a lot of colors (the overworld generally falls into this category), you can use csets 0 and 1 to give you some more colors to work with. And csets 10 and 11 work great for items that you don't want to interfere with you enemy palleting.

So you can use one more Cset per screen in the new version meaning that you can now use the Cset 12. That's just what I needed! I have already used the CSets 10 and 11, so one more CSet to use...
