I opened 180test.qst with zquest 163 and it worked!!! I saw the maps working fine. The problem is when I get to the init data everything closes.

You're weird........

Yes, it works, oddly enough. What's even odder is what happens to your inventory when you play a 180 quest in a previous version.

Actually, this is very glitchy.

One quest from 178 I opened in 163 gave you 0 hearts, so you died instantly.

You can't specify the numbers of what you want though because cheat codes will sometimes refuse to "convert back" when loading newer quests in an older ZC.

Edit: There are several other glitches also. Any room with a automatic sidewarp (ticks) turned on will become an instant death room. Clicking a bush combo in Zquest 163 crashes Zquest. Obviously, the init data crashes Zquest. It doesn't end there.

.........And this is why DN doesnt normally release public betas, kiddies.

All grass combos are now PUSH UP-DOWN COMBOS. :odd:

Yeah... that's another thing that got my attention.

Zquest tends to also make up new combo names for some stuff based on flags. Trust me though, those combos don't work. :blah:

Yeah, I did this as well. Now I have a new tileset. Warlock's New-first is a lot nicer than the older one. This should be the defult New-first.

They look exactly the same to me... Could you point out the changes?

Hey I'm sorry for the sarcasm. I really didn't think that would be possible! BUT as for death rooms?!? Now that's crazy!

Sure, they're really not that much, but the tileset is more organized, plus he has new dungeon entrances from Z3, and has legdes for the cliff ties. He has given the normal tile (first one) more rugged like dirt. There are nicer waterfall tiles and there are tiles for the next beta.

that pretty much sums it up. :)

I would imagine there are also new tiles for the slash animation in the beta 180 tileset.

Umm... gee, why on earth would an OLDER version of ZC handle a NEWER quest format incorrectly? Certainly ZC has magical abilities to automatically figure out what data is for.

No. ZC and ZQ are extremely likely to flip out on quest formats that have more data than they know what to do with.

I think people are more amazed at the fact the quests even load at all in an earlier Zquest and ZC (usually, it would just present "Invalid Quest file"). I don't think they are complaining about the glitches. It's rather obvious there would be problems with this.

Anyone who didn't know that is... well... lacks common sense.

Yep, I already checked for that. They're fairly close to the terrain tiles.
