So I used to go over to my friends house when I was a kid and if his parents were using the television, he would hook his SNES up to his computer. I don't know what programs/adapters he used. But we could play his SNES on the PC. It was awesome.

I would like to hook my Xbox up to my PC using my video card, so I can acheive the same thing. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Get a PCI card that lets you watch TV on your computer. ATI makes some. The Radeon All-In-Wonder should let you, I think.

Well ya know. In a way the Xbox is a computer itself.....so it might be possible. But still....it might not work but who said it's not so bad 2 figure it out? Without breaking anything that is.
Edit: have u tried it before urself? Well....I'm done helping.

PCI is obsolete. The only way you would want to get a PCI card would be if you were to get a TV Tuner. ATi and nVidia both have products that go into the PCI slot and allow video in.

Any Video Card that has RCA, S-Video or Coaxial Cable in will allow you to plug any console, vcr, dvd player, tv, etc into it. You just need to get some software like WinTV to use it.

I'd recommend going for an ATi All-In-Wonder Radeon card. There are several AIWs, I would suggest on getting a 7500 AIW or an 8500 AIW. I'd say go all out and get the 9700 Pro AIW, but not everyone has $400.

You could also go on the other side towards nVidia and get one of their cards. I do believe that there are several cards that other companies produce with nVidia's chips that have several Video-In.

You could also get a compsite->VGA converter, but they're reletively expensive at 70 bucks or so.

No you cannot, that is if you wish to have your computer being displayed on a TV. The only way that would work is if the component was meant for that as well as the card was too.

What about on a laptop? I have a laptop, and I'd like to do it. Wouldn't that Dazzle thingy work?

You can buy TV WONDER USB for your laptop to TV programming, but I am not sure about with S-video.

You can find them in store or online.

Actually I did it the other way Beldaran. I use Zsnes to play SNES on my TV. Although I did use it once to play GC on my PC. I have an ATi Radeon 64mb ddr 7200 VIVO. Any vivo card, with the right software, will work for what you want.

Well, my monitor sucks, so I'm not too worried. 13 inches with 800x600 max. Of course, I got it for free. Better than nothing. But i do have my TV hooked up to my computer output.

Gotta try? You don't just try. You have to buy a product capable of it.
