Well those raise one question.
Yes only one single question.

Since it is to my understanding that this game takes place before LttP, and might fill in some gaps in that period, I have to wonder how on Earth is Ganondorf free?

O that part is very simple. The WInd Waker states "Ganon was sealed away by the Hero of Time. (OoT) But the Hero disapeared. Somehow Ganon reapeared with no Hero to stop him". Ok, it doesnt say how he escaped, but he does.

Yes, and it looks like Zelda will decide Nintendo of Japan's fate. If it succedes, GC does. If Zelda fails, GameCube fails.

??? What the heck are you talking about? Gamecube will not fail based on one game. Besides that, Nintendo has a ton of cash. They are perfectly fine.

Even if that WAS true...

Zelda got a perfect score by a respected Japanese magazine. The only people who will tell you it sucks are people who hate the graphics and have never played it. Shoot 'em for me, will ya?
