Just wondering. I just got a call back to be an extra in the movie "Radio". Seems I will be a coach for the opposing team for a big high school game. It stars Ed Harris and Cuba Gooding, Jr. You can read about it on IMDB (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0316465).

So the next time I watch that show, I should look for a guy who looks like Marilyn Manson?

Not that I could tell... I was used at the Publix they were at. I have however done 4 commercial spots.

How do you get to become an extra? Is it just "being at the right place at the right time) or do you apply for it?

As far as I know you have to go through a talent agency, unless it's last minute or special or something.

I went to an open casting call, talked to people, filled out papers, left a headshot, got a call back. Even though you get paid, like $10 bucks an hour, it is not about the money, it is the experience.

Cool, any of them national? Did you toy with the idea of becoming an actor, or is that what you are doing now?

My brother was an extra in Phenomenon. They had a casting call for extras when they were filming in Auburn. I think the requirement was you had to bring a picture of your car, or some weird thing, I don't know. Anyway he got in, and was onscreen for like five seconds. Pretty good for being an extra.
A girl I worked with just started at the begining of this week as an extra on Legaly Blonde 2. She actualy has an agent and is trying to make a career as an actress.

Never been in a movie, but I hope to do a little voice acting. Nothing big, just a soldier yelling here, civilian screaming there.

I had the chance to be an extra in Double Jeopardy when it was being shot in NOLA but I got really sick (terrble flu) and I couldn't get my part as an extra.

My uncle was one of the guys who holds the coffin in Clear and Present Danger. He got to meet Harrison Ford.

My friend has made at least one independant film, and has plans for two others. I wasn't in the first, but I'll probably be in the two he's planning (since I'm producing them.)
