You might have seen this in another topic, but I decided to start a new one on this.

http://search.msn.com/results.asp?FORM=SMCDA&cfg=SMCXADBLK&q=Gamecube

You have entered a search term that is likely to return adult content.

Click here for search results on 'Gamecube' at NightSurf.com
NightSurf.com is an independent adult search service.

Warning: If you are under 18 or live in an area where it is illegal for you to view explicit content, please revise your search.

This proves one of two things.
1. Microsoft is really trying hard to discourage people to buy the Gamecube
2. Microsoft is finally admiting that Gamecube is the more 'mature' console. :)

How ironic....

Yes but if you search for "Nintendo Gamecube" it turns up all the correct results. (http://search.msn.com/results.asp?q=nintendo+gamecube&origq=&RS=CHECKED&FORM=SMCRT&v=1&cfg=SMCINITIAL&nosp=0&thr=)

You are too paranoid Alexmax. It was obviously an oversight in the development of the search algorithms.

Signs you have been spending too much time on the internet:

1) You think Microsoft is secretly communicating with you via subliminal messages programmed into its search engine.

Yeah...

Alex, you really don't have to prove that Nintendo Gamecube is mature, or its not kiddie, Nintendo is the same as its always been, don't let others tell you otherwise.

I'm not paranoid. :paranoid:

I actually laughed my ass off when it came up. I thought it was a joke.

Microsoft likes to deny everything
except good news, generally: "yes we are making money"
or "Yes XBOX is currently a big money maker...most likely the strongest of the three consoles."
"No, Xbox is the best"

So, they overproduced Xboxes, right.

Most normal search engines allow you to search adult sites, you just have to turn a filter off or something to that effect. Heck, you can still search for things like titties with them, you might just not get many results if the filter is on. I've never seen anything like this before.

This is rather funny. Because the word 'Gamecube' isn't remotely close to anything pornographic, I'm sure this was done on purpose. The reason for the adult warning was simply because they couldn't straight out block it without some sort of a reason to display...
Actually.... now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense. They pretend to be helping you by sending you off to another search engine. Thing is, the nature of the search engine they send you to is such that you are likely to recieve little if any relavent material. So unless you hop over to Google or the like (which in my experience returns far more relavent search results than MSN anyway), you've been blocked.

edit:
Yep.... of the 10 results on the first page of NightSurf, not one of them had anything to do with the GCN.

It's more likely the adult sites are the ones who do this I bet. Nobody had forgotten the little www.zelda.com episode. Where zelda64.com was the Nintendo site, and zelda.com was a porn site. I remeber that a couple years ago around the time OOT came out. I checked it out because I didn't believe it, and it was true. That was until people broke down on that stuff. Now its a nintendo site. And I'm pretty sure Nintendo wasn't the only one. Some names of toy companies would result in some porn sites popping up too. MSN is just trying to filter out the porn sites.
