As a rule, I am opposed to mandatory filters for public computers, if for no other reason than the fact that they don't work, or work too well.

Here we have an example of a library's filters blocking access to its own website. Why? The name of the library is Flesh Public Library.

I think that if they aren't going to censor out violence, they shouldn't censor out sex. Free porn for all, I say.

Internet cecnsoring is just plain stupid. It either doesnt work at all or works too well and blocks legitimate sites.

Well, I guess the library got its just desserts...

I agree that the library has no excuse for installing censorship software. We're not idiots; we can determine for ourselves what we do or do not want to see.

I guess just keeping an eye on the people never occured to the library.

The only filter that could possibly acheive what filters attempt to acheive is a person who sits behind you and hits you with a hammer when you try to access web sites you shouldn't.

<sarcasm>
But that might seem rude and be uncomfortable! How will we be able to flame places like AGN?

The AOL filter it has programed in sucks. It wouldn't let my friend on the stickdeath site, or any other sites like that. It shouldn't censor mindless violence when we see it on the news every f***ing day. F*** the f***ing f***ers.
