Interesting.. IGN thinks it may be a "Super Game Boy Advance" or some sort of device like that which will allow you to play GBA games on your GameCube.. Either way, we will find out tomorrow..

That would really rock. The appeal of playing GBA games would jump about 90% for me if I could play them on my TV. And then you could just take the game on the go and play wherever. For example, I'd rather play Super Mario Bros. 2, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, and A Link to the Past on my TV like the SNES games they were, so I might prefer the SNES version because of this. But it would be nice to play with the new features from the GBA games.

That is friggin' sweet! Under two conditions that is:

1.) It $@%#$@ supports Super Game Boy games (you know, those regular GB games you would plug into the SNES Super Game Boy and get very specific color palettes and borders for). WHY THE HELL DOESN'T GBC and GBA do this?!? They certainly are capable of it (SGB was no more advanced than GBC). It boggles the mind. Granted, I only actually own a couple of these, but hell, Donkey Kong alone is worth it.

2.) More control over the colors for the older games. What I'm talking about is like a mix b/w SGB and GBC. SGB let you basically pick any color set. But it made EVERYTHING that color set. However, GBC could distinguish between sprites and background (and a few other things), allowing you to have, say, a red character against a green background. The problem with GBC was that you didn't get to pick these! You were given like 8 pre-made color sets and had to shuffle through those at lightning speed while the GBC started up. (incidentally, SGB specific games did this too, but you couldn't select here either, although the colors usually looked good anyways since they were designed for the game). Anyways, the whole system has driven me nuts in the past, and I seriously hope Nintendo has thought this through for once.

Anyways, I know I am picky, but so be it :D hehe. One interesting thing tho, the PGC guy mentions something about multiplayer. This would be so damn awesome! I mean, the problem I have is that I don't actually know anyone else with a GBA. So I don't have anyone to play MP games w/, esp with this new single-cartraige thing the GBA can do. Of course, my little brother and sister both own their own GBC, but hell, it's not like we are going to buy individual copies for each of us on games we already own. *sigh* Anyways, maybe this could work. Either they could do a split screen deal (yeah, not the best way, but hell, with a four-way split screen it really isn't any smaller than the actual GBA screen :D), or they could do something like have one person play w/ the TV monitor, and the other can use the GC/GBA link cable and a GBA. That would work :D

that actually looks cool. i was hoping they would make one for 64. what they could also do is prehaps make a similiar peripheral for SNES games. that would be freaking awesome

awesome... I'm getting this. That makes the GBA games all more worthwhile to play them on a TV. Now if only the GBA sound was SNES quality...

Sweet! I'm definitly gonna get this. Maybe you can save your games to a GCN memory card too? That'd be neat.

Now, if only they made something like this that would let you play NES, SNES and N64! games on the cube. Totaly compatibility

Speaking of this new peripheral, if anyone was wondering about Metroid II: Return of Samus, it looks good on Game Boy Color/Advance because of the team that made Game Boy worked on Metroid, so a special palette was made for Metroid II apparently. (Dan Owsen revealed this on the MDb, it just came to my head for some reason just now)

I read this in 5th period and here are the thoughts that have gone through my head:

Amazing, this means that 8 of the 10 Zelda games will be playable on the Cube.

Could it be possible to use this for Final Fantasy: Chrystal Chronicles?

Could this be a hidden step of Nintendos online strategy? Playing GBA against people in Australia? Hell yeah.

Now I dont have to get a GBA! 40-50 bucks? Damn straight!

Could it be possible for developers to set up different control schemes if played on the GC?

And finally, this is one of the first steps of the final merging of handheld and console gaming. In 30 years the only difference between the2 will be playing on a TV at home and on a little screen on the road.

I'm still not planning to get a gamecube. Untill maybe it drops to $50 right before it dies out.
