Hey, I need some help diagnosing a problem in windows, and perhaps finding a solution. The problem: When I play any mp3's, whether in kazaa, windows media player, or any other player it playes poorly.
What confuzes me is the fact that it starts out fine, and can usually play through a whole song fine. I run into problems when I open up any other applications or do certain things in programs such as save my work. Once I do one of these things it imediately get scratchy and a little monotone.
I use the onboard sound of a Biostar M6VCF motherboard. I would steal my parents soundblaster card, but I don't have the PCI slot for it. Anyway, I don't believe it is a problem with the hardware because it always works fine in linux. Can anyone suggest a remedy?
By the Way: I have win98se.
