Would NHL 2002 run with open GL, Direct 3D, software rendering or anything like that, or do you have to have a 3D accelator card?? I have NHL 2000, and it runs excellent even though I only have a 4 MB Video Card. Would NHL 2002 run or do I need a 3D Accelerator like a VooDoo or a Geforce card?

Do you know who makes your 4 megabyte video card? Like ATI Rage 3D or S3 Savage?

If you have a 4 meg video card I would consider upgrading. Find out if you have a AGP slot otherwise you may need a PCI video card.

It's intergrated into the motherboard, An Intel 810 Chipset.

I don't have any AGP slots, just 1 PCI

Either buy a new pc or get a PCI version of the best Geforce card you can get. If you plan on getting a new one soon though, you could just get a Geforce 2 PCI version.

I know I can upgrade,

But will NHL 2002

run with Open GL, or software rendering, ETC...?

Well an Intel 810 graphics chip should do the job for NHL2002. Don't worry about openGL or Direct3D as long as you have the newest drivers. Also your video chip is not just a 4 megabyte card seeing as it probably uses system memory if it runs out.

You can get the latest drivers from Intels website. Click here (http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/filter_results.asp?strOSs=44%2C45%2C22%2C18%2C17%2 C16%2C15%2C14%2C19%2C24%2C23%2C11%2C39&strTypes=DRV%2CARC&ProductID=798&OSFullName=All+Operating+Systems&submit=Go%21) to go to Intels driver page and select the operating system for you PC and download the driver.

Since you have a Intel chipset I would recommend you download Intel's application accelerator. You can get that from here (http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/filter_results.asp?strOSs=44%2C45%2C22%2C18%2C17%2 C19%2C24&strTypes=DRV%2CARC&ProductID=663&OSFullName=All+Operating+Systems&submit=Go%21). Helps speed up your PC in a few areas.

Most games like NHL 2002 probably use Direct 3D but they could very well have an option for OpenGL. So long you keep your drivers up to date you shouldn't need to worry about it. If your using a Intel 810 graphics chip then probably your only option for a new video card is PCI but a Intel 810 chip should do fine.
