With the Metroid games coming out soon, I remembered the comics that Penny Arcade did back when there were still talks about new Metroid games.

I remember reading those! Good stuff. The 3rd part of the Metroid saga one was great "You said it, Miyamoto-san" ::laughs:: :D

LOL @ Count your lucky stars! I have, and I'm glad I don't have a Metris game, hehe

"You shoot the metroid(tm)"
"You see another metroid(tm)"

Hehe, the "Count Your Lucky Stars" one was the very first Penny Arcade strip I ever read ;)

And they need to make a Metris, dammit! :D I found some home-brewed Metris game (based on the strip, of course), it was kinda cool... Needed more bells and whistles though. The metroids should turn to ice and explode when you get a line... and something really spiffy should happen when you get a Tetris... err, Metris.

Yup, I actaully kinda wanted the Dance Dance Samus or Metroid. I didn't even have to click the links, I knew all of them right off the bat, I read PA too much :)

Hmm, you know, that text adventure could have been quite fun....

in the 70's.

I like text adventures,

you see metroid
switch to ice beam
shoot at metroid
**wait 3 seconds**
you hit metroid
metroid freezes
you see mother brain
switch to missle
shoot at motherbrain
**wait three seconds**
glass around motherbrain breaks

and so on.

Real text adventure games can be fun though.

I'd wanna play a text-based Metroid game... At least, to see what it's like. Text-based puzzles - Even earler GUI puzzles, like King's Quest - are plenty more challenging than today's fare, IMHO.

I remember King's Quest, it pissed me off. I beat it though. Back when we had to pay for strategy guides, instead of getting them on the internet.
