I need some help. When I run Zelda Classic 1.92 It doesn't work It doesn't even come up. But when I run ZQuest It works. Does anyone know why?

What version of windows are you using? What version of ZC are you using (windows or DOS)?

Im using windows 95 and I have the windows version. Why do you ask?

Some versions of ZC work better in different versions of windows. You should try the DOS version if you haven't already, it seems to work better on older computers (at least it does on the ones I tried it on). Also what speed is your computer and how much RAM does it have?

Its 266Mhz and has 32 MB RAM. Why? Also where can I get the DOS Version?

EDIT: Ok. I downloaded the DOS Version but when It says Allocating Quest Data Buffers It says error.

The DOS version can be found here (http://armageddongames.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63100), but I don't think 32 MB of RAM is enough to run it (it won't run on a computer with 32MB that I tried), but maybe it will run for you. The next version of ZC might use less RAM so if this one doesn't work maybe the next one will.

EDIT: I just saw your edit after I posted, if it says that, then you don't have enough RAM. I think that version needs at least 40 MB.

It says that because you don't have enough RAM, I think it needs at least 40 MB to run.

OK. I guess its back to 1.90. Oh well. But just to say 1.92 kicks bum. I have played it on my big sisters computer.

tai, the windows version should allow virtual memory access and should work (if windows is using it like it should.)

This is why I think DN is really due to make a release. Because the current beta is far too bulky for what it is, and has bogus requirements for what it actually is. And the later versions have significantly lower reqs.

The Dos Version has always worked perfectly for me.

Y'know, I think it's because AGsetup isn't being distributed anymore. Anytime I equip someone with my copy of Agsetup, ZC suddenly works. I don't know why everyone is so against this being distributed still. Rather odd, if you ask me.

The DOS version is.... The only version that works.... For me anyway.... Startropics is great indeed! The first adventure game I ever played.... I was seven years old, and .... It was my favorite game, I played it yesterday, came to the graveyard, I couldnt finish it when I was a kid, today I will try it out.... Its my second favorite game ever! I love the music!
