what version of windows are you using? If it's XP, that could be your problem right there.

i've got win98. i thought it would reach.

Hmm.. So, will it just not open, or does it give you an error message? If it tries to open, then vanishes, I think I know what the problem is.

i was not surprised as zc1.92 for windows didnt work. but i became angry, as the dos version made me laptop frozen.
i tried several times, but it always failed.

i've got allegro, and agsetup files, and everything in the same folder.

so what?

Try this. If you've downloaded all available files, try opening ZQuest. If it opens, mouse up to the very top of that screen, then mouse over to the ETC part. Click that, then scroll down to the thing that says Lost Woods. Click that, and a midi should start playing.

If it plays, then press ESC to close ZQuest. This will create a file called ag.cfg. Once this file is created, try running ZC again. :)

My knowledge of this really comes from reading other people's suggestions, and what I've learned through my own experiences.

Glad to be of help.. Hope it works for you. :)

Umm... Teilyr, ? There is one crucial file that everyone is forgetting about. I just got ZC for someone yesterday, but we needed the component, so we just played SSB.

The component is AGSetup.exe . ZC doesn't work without it. Maybe I could upload it for you. ... . when I get my shared files done with help from anyone and ZL.

I don't know if you're aware of this BH4, but ZC install files after 1.90 do NOT include AGSetup.exe. Besides, you can create the sound config in ZQ by playing the Lost Woods midi, and I think you can setup a controller in ZC... Wouldn't know though. I use a 104 button controller. :D

I had agsetup on my server, but since AZC's links are back, I shut my server down.

So why doesn't ZC work then? ZQuest worked fine, but I had no idea about the Lost Woods midi in there would make it work!!! wait, I'm not , I'm :glare: .

hi. i'm here again.

thanks for the replies. it is already gettin better. now it tries to open (but only the dos version), but i become error messages becouse of missing files, as:
3rd.qst, and so on.

i havent got an internet portal at my home, so i have to download my files in an internet cafe.
so i'm not able to download a file, that is bigger than 1,4 MB.

i think i will need following files:
3rd.qst
new enemy tiles.pdf
sfx.dat
zelda.dat
zgp.dat.

do you know were the files could be found?

All of those files should've come with the support file download.

FYI, AGSetup is rather obsolete now as Zquest will configure sound for you (atleast in windows) and you can configure your controller in ZC.
