columbus day is a worthless holiday the guy was a criminal who didnt accomplish much in his time. All he did was find the place. It woulda been found by someone else if he hadn't

actually, school is cancelled for us :D
and columbus wasn't as great as people think he is. he did discover this by accident and he didn't treat the natives very well.

Yah I know he wasn't the person most people think he is. One thing he didn't discover that the earth was round, the Greeks studied eclipses and stuff. He wasn't the first one to reach Amreica, there were already people living there. He wasn't the first European there, there were the Vikings. He never reached America, all 4 times he landed in the Carribean where the Tainos lived. 1/3 out of the Tainos died of the European diseases, the other 2/3 died of all the cruelty by the Europeans like all the slavery. Columbus was also inprisoned one time cause he was doing stuff like whipping the Tainos.

Eh, someone would have discovered North America if Columbus hadn't... oh wait he didn't. He never even set foot in North America. ;) Oh well, he was still pretty courageous coming out into the unknown.
