omg, my mouse has aids

i was making tiles in zquest, and it started to fuck up, the cursor went to the top of the screen, and was fucked, so i went to clean it off, so i take off the mouse ball cover, and set it down, take out the ball, and clean out the little wheel thingies, i put the ball back in, and couldn't find the cover, and i STILL cant find it. but i'm still using it, just without the cover, meaning i'll end up loosing the ball some day >_< today sucks

You can get a nice microsoft one for 20$s and it'll last you forever. A very good investment. I'll never go back to a tracking ball mouse.

Yea but that cover HAS to be somewhere tho.
It's not like it got legs and ran off. You'll find it.
Course it in close to All-Howles-Eve, maybe you got spooks messing with you.:D

DT, a decent ballmouse mouse is $5AU. As for the optical mice, both my computers have them, and it is definately worth the extra to get a quality microsoft one.

i have a spare $5 'fast mouse' that i could give ya, but the postage would be more than the cost of a new mouse

Microsoft Optical mice are one of the few things that they've made that actually last,. Plus that red thingy is oh so cool.

hmm... i might get an optical one... but are they really so great? like, can you really move around as easy? (I sprite, i need too move around easily =p)

yeah, they're very smooth moving and they don't jump around. i don't use a mouspad anymore, just the surface of the desk. the only drawback is that that surface you use it on has to have some pattern. otherwise it confuses the tracking and makes it think it's not moving since it doesn't have a reference to start from.
my brother and i got backup optical mouses(mouses? mice?) for 10 bucks apiece. they're grey and blue memorex ones. but they're not as comfy as my microsoft mouse.

lkol optical mouses are the best. plain and simple of it

Yes. Lasermice shouldn't be used on any smooth metal surfaces. Wooden desks work nicely. Infact where mine is has worn the paint off lol. There is this wood color roundish shape.

So anyways, you should get a Microsoft Optical mouse, cause whoever they bought out that was making these sure did a good job.
