In my post "wav files" a few of you had posted about a few programs that actually translate wav to midi, mp3 to midi, etc. What do you think?

They don't work very good from what I've heard, I tried one before, but the midis didn't convert good from the mp3s.

EDIT: here is a topic about that, that explains about it more. http://armageddongames.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63017&highlight=convert+midi

Well I tried wav to midi and it sounded like the worst "noise" in history!:odd:

Converting audio samples to synth music ussually does that. Esspecially if the wav wasn't from music, and had audio or lyrics.

Is there a prog that rips SNES music into waves or midis?

Some emulators rip the music into wav files.

I know why some converters are terrible because they only have one or two instruments for playback. We need a converter for 5 to 10 instruments as playback. Thats how we all got so many great midis from vgmusic and other sites.:D

Know any good SNES emu that does that?

ZSNES is good enough for me. I'm not sure if I have to rip music yet. I just compliment the fine staff of VGMusic until I get what I want. And it works, too! :D

I thought so..... I've never been good at ripping music. Tiles are my specialty. I can recolor the background from FF3 Final boss, but I can't even change one simple instrument.

I like to edit MIDIs, and remix them, but Im not too good to sequence a MIDI from scratch, but my big brother creates MIDIs by himself for his quests, and he "compose" the music too. :)

ZSNES can export SPC files, which can be played with a number of programs.. From there, you can convert the SPC into midi. But, it's not an easy process.

I made a custom Z2 End boss midi. (Final, Final boss.) Using SMmidi out! It seems to work.

SmMidi is not as good as (Dop) Digital Orchestrator Pro,But i had to use that while i was saving some cash for Dop so it was kinda annoying to use .
