For some reason my sound went out a couple weeks ago. I finally got a ride to best buy Saturday. Got a Sound Blaster 16 PCI. Put its in, intsall drivers AND IT DOESNT WORK!! Then about 5 minutes ago I went to some Zelda fan site and hear the Overworld Themesong. My first reaction: WTF!?!?!?, then I realize it will only play MIDis and its not my computer thats messed up. Right now Im trying to fix it. Does anyone know what to do?

Are you sure you didn't mute everything else? It's happened to me before.

Are the drivers all working normally? (system devices menu)

No everythings not muted, and system devices are working. The only help I've found is where it says "If you only hear MIDI or WAV files the issue is internal and not with your sound system". Well damnit tell me how to fix it stupid manual!

Yes, yes. Ive been through the the Troubleshooter 3 or 4 times! My guess is that there is some obscure option that is turned off that should be on (or vice versa).

I was having a problem with my sound card when I installed linux. So I just re-installed windows.

Im not sure. Stangly it worked after I turned AIM on and it crashed. Weird.

Huh! Don't use AOL. It sucks. We got MSN for 6 months free with our new computer, and my parents are hooked.

I dont have AOL. I have AIM. The only reason I have AIM is cause thats all any of my friends have. I would die before using AOL.
