I know this was posted before a while back, but I took a look at the site again. I read through it again, and man, that sounds awesome, I'm drooling. This looks like the best way to legally keep retro gaming alive: by renting out ROMs just like a virtual video rental store. Do they really have a case to continue? Has anyone tried it yet?

Sorry, but I'll stick to my "legally questionable" and much more versitile way to keep retrogaming alive.

I tried it when it was posted awhile back. Is there anything new? Maybe Ill give it a shot for the hell of it.

not much new except you have to pay for the SNES rentals and some of the newer NES rentals

Why pay for what you can get for free, even if it isn't the most legal thing in the world? It's not like you can get caught or anything.

It's like a video rental store. I believe its like $5 a month for the service. The guys at the site are saying that they have enough to last through October right now, but more subscriptions are coming in as they get hits.

Really...its a legal way to do emulation and play ROMs of old games, and if they really are legit with this idea, they won't have to hide. Sure, you can continue to get ROMs like you've always done, but crap, this is really something. A business of renting out ROMs. I don't know how to explain or express it other than that. Hell, if the service is good and the game selection increases, I'd pay $5 a month.

Its a nice idea. I agree. And infact you could make a program to catch the roms to a file when you play them.

Yeah like Motz said, I'll stick to my current method of retro gaming. And guess what, I'll have 5 extra dollars a month in my pocket.

I don't have 5 dollars a month (physically) to spend on such things. It's already 50$s a month for DSL and I like to spread what that pays for to cover gaming too. ;)
