Have you ever found out that something you thout was true as a kid wasn't?

Like, I lived in Cape Cod, New Jersey for most my young child hood. And, if you haven't been there, there are lots of toll roads.
I remeber one day, I built ths HUGE lego city, tookup most of the living room, it was like 25x25 City blocks, built in a grid system. I swear I put a tolol booth at EVERY inersecton. It wasn't untill a few years later that I found out they are alost non-existant. :)

Anythig like that ever happen to you?

My little brother used to think our city was a separate place than Texas, he used to say "Where are we?" while traveling and we would say "San Antonio" or where ever we were, and he would say "When do we get to Texas?"

I believed that the lightbulbs in my house would try and get me, oh wait, they still do! Blasted Dip-dips.

I thought I had seen the easter bunny family (I always knew it had to be a family, rabbits always have large families--they multiply like rabbits for goodness' aches) run across my back yard and jump over the fence on easter morning...they were about a foot and a half tall and two feet long white rabbits (and normal rabbit shaped, not humanoid easter bunnies), and they galloped across the yard, jumped into the air, and cleared our neighbor's 6-foot-tall fence easily.

It was only years later that I realized it must have been a dream...at least, if there aren't real easter bunnies it must have been...

I used to believe in all the monster movies I watched as a kid.
Dracula, the Mummy, the Creatchur from the Black Lagoon, the Wolfman, the Blob, I would watch all the monster movies and then get what ever item that would beat them.
I had a whole box of stuff that could defeat any monster.
Crosses, wooden stakes, a big flashlight, a book of maches, a lighter, a small fire extinguisher, a real silver knife I stole from my grandmothers house.
I believed it all and was ready for any kind of action.

I don't think Iowa or Idaho are different states. Someone must have been playing a joke when they made them up.
