Ha. Nice joke. :laughing:

Seriously, even with these "free" internet companies, you still have to pay for the long distance charges. -_-

NetZero gives you 10 FREE hours a month deal.

Yes, but only 10. It used to be 40, but they took me by complete surprise when they cut it back. I barely resisted an angry letter to NZ management.

The clincher was when they started to charge $19.95 insterad of $9.95 for extended access. I considered phoning them and asking for my money back. I decided becoming a paying member was better (and cheaper, obviously), so I thought what the heck.

We used to use Netzero, then we used Freelane (excite's free internet connection). They were great, esp Freelane, but Freelane went under in a few months, and then later Netzero started charging $10 a month for service. This was ok, and we paid $10 happily for their service, but one day out of the blue we got a letter saying that Netzero can no longer provide us with their service, even though we paid for it. So, we said fuck'm, and we got DSL.

In short, there's no way your gonna get a free internet connect that will last long. It's best to just pay for one, and a fast one if you can afford it.

There's always the library, but I know that's not the same thing.

There are such companies here in Australia. But they suck….. -_-;;

You could try bluelight unlimited, but it isn't exactly the greatest. You probably should disable pictures in IE options to speed up surfing if you get it.

"Free" internet access costs companies lots of money. They pass the spending on to you.

I would kill for a free shell account.

And this is coming from someone who has broadband.

You could always start collecting AOL CD's. :)

What happened to free Internet?

Lets face it, the days of free internet will never come back..they were done as of when Netzero went pay..AOLs free CDs are just a way to bill your credit card without you knowing.
