ALBANY, New York (AP) -- Officials say it was just a coincidence, but many people found it chilling nonetheless: On the anniversary of September 11, the winning numbers in the New York lottery were 9-1-1.

Could have been fixed. On January 1st 2002 the winning numbers were 2-0-0-2. Anyways if that happened and those were your numbers you would win 20 bucks.

The chance of that happening, is very small, chance of it begin fixed is higher.....

The sad thing is, so many people chose those numbers, that some of those people didn't get anything. That sucks....

Yeah, I meant it's a fraud drawing. Things like this seem like too much to be a coincidence to me. :eyebrow:

I seen that on the news, the chances of it happening are 999-1 according to a matchmatcian...also there was a stock that closed on 911. Its possible though.

It's is quite likely that it did occur considuring all the times it didn't. If like Lone Wolf said the odds were 999 to 1 then I would expect it to occure every 2 1/2 years on average. Of course it could also be fixed. Since the winning is only $500 (or 762 clams for you foreigners :D ) they probably thought it wouldn't hurt much do do it only rarely.
