There was a whole site dedicated to those that I visted a long time ago. Look for something like...."Sonic: Project Mettrix" or something like that...

we just need some platform game. We need to be more flexible. Im gonna learn C++ soon but i wont be able to make a game for acouple years.

Do a game in c++? I took two years of c++ in school and I still don't know how to do graphics. How about Java, I'm learning that now.

There is a Sonic fangame that uses an improved version of the Doom engine. I forgot where it is, but it's like a mix of Sonic for Genesis and Sonic Adventure.
