My god, that is tragic.

Saying "3000 people died" doesn't drive home the tragedy as much as seeing 3000 names, names of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, lovers, friends, and individuals.

I don't know how to fully convey my revulsion and grief.

Our local paper, the Cincinnati Enquirer (http://www.enquirer.com) put all 3,000 names on the front page, with nothing else besides an image of a rose. I was actually impressed that they did it. It was rather strange seeing all those names in one place.

the boston globe has a section listing all the names, not on the front page though

Since I was born in New York, I cannot believe that about 2,820 people died. I said when I saw the World Trade Center... "Holy shit... this does NOT look good at all... has God turned bad or what?" Then, Alucard hears the PENTAGON was jammed. "Fuck, they got part of the Pentagon! :mad2:" Finally... near Pittsburgh, PA... "Are these terrorists blind?" I was afraid they would crash in Pittsburgh as well. Almost every member on here were pissed when they heard about the World Trade Center... so was I. Why oh why September 11? Backwards... 10119 (the area code for the WTC). The plane that went into the wall in the Pentagon was originally aimed for the White House, but it went into the Pentagon. Back in 1993, the terrorists put an explosive under the World Trade Center and it killed people. WHY?

Wow... that's a sobering list.

At our city Fourth of July celebration this year, right before the fireworks, they had the wife of a man from our town who died in the Pentagon speak on patriotic duty and what not. I must say it was the first truly patriotic Fourth of July in quite some time. The idea of "America" was a lot more than it had been in years past. Seems like it takes a little stirring to get us to appreciate what we have and to feel responsible to keep it going. It's too bad it had to come at such a price.

I didn't really get much of a chance to see the 9/11 memorial, since I was avoiding coverage and all, but the last hour that I spent watching the TV I realise that so many people did die durnig that tragidy. I heard from the news guys that it would take about 1 and 1/2 hours just to read them all.

Hopefully we will celebrate the demise of Bin Laden, whenever that happens. Blood is required of him for such an action, if anybody's blood should be spilt because of this situation it should be his. Okay, those are harsh words, but it was truely a dispicible thing that was done and it will be hard to get over it.

I guess this topic has to be archived now, eh?

I knew that 3,000 is a lot but when I was scrolling down the page I saw just how many it really is. It's a very harsh realization which I've been needing recently. I too have been starting to nestle back into my old ways, which is NOT good.

Whoa... 5 people with the same last name as me...

Do you realize that there was a daycare in TWC? Kids died too! Only someone who worships satan could do that! I HATE THE TERRORISTS!

They showed the same list at the Super Bowl, recall. It's sadly touching to see such a long list of victims, really.

And am I missing something, or did Phantom Menace actually post again? I'm surprised no one noticed. :)
