I knew this for awhile, but I didn't realize they were this far along. either way, I don't really know that I want to play FFXI at all. I don't have the money to burn playing a game like this. If I did get it though, I'd get it for PS2 simply cause I don't feel like beefing up my PC just for a select few games.

It really isn't so hard to get your PS2 online. All you need to do is connect it to a network sharing your current Internet connections, and there ya go. At the very least, all you need is the Network adapter(40 bucks) and a network cable.

Since my network is a wireless one, and the router is nowhere near my room, I'd have to shell out for a wireless bridge, but other than that, its pretty simple to go online with the PS2.

However, some games will require fees to play online, and I believe FFXI will not be an exception. I imagine its costs will be comparable to Everquest.

Well, I already have a great computer and a good connection available, so why spend the money on the PS2?

I guess that depends on whether they release FFXI for the PC or not...

Personally though, I'd rather play the game on my TV set than my PC.

I wonder if I can get my computer to dual-boot US Windows and Japanese Windows... probably could, with the help of PartitionMagic and the nifty boot-loader I got with Mandrake.
