All the files go in the same folder, so if you you have a folder called "zelda classic" they all would go in there.

You just put alleg40.dll in the same folder that you have Zelda Classic in, you don't have to open it with any program.

When you put ZC on your computer, you put it in a folder, all of the files need to go in the same one.

What version of windows do you have, and how much RAM do you have? Also do you get any error messages?

Windows xp. forgot what RAM is. No I don't get error messages. I just double-click it and nothing happens

If you have XP you should have enough RAM. I don't know why it won't run for you, I have heard of people having trouble running it in XP, but I don't know how to fix it, hopefully someone else will know what to do.

What version do you have? because O think I can make it work by properties and going into the compatibility and change it

I have Windows 98 and I use the DOS version of ZC, but I've heard the DOS version doesn't run well on XP.

alleg40 goes in the folder that ZC is installed in, not on the desktop. Try looking for a folder called "zcbeta" or "zeldaclassic" or something similar to that in C:\ (or whatever hard drive you are using) and put it in there.
