I've decided just to make a Zelda quest for old times sake. I'm just going to use the standard 9 level format and go the way I did with Triforce of Courage. I'm doing it pretty much because I was listening to midis tonight, and I want to put them into a quest.

So a question before I start...what would be the safest version of ZQuest to use at this point? I want it to be playable in the next actual version of Zelda Classic.

All quests that are made by a older virsion of zquest will be able to be played on a newer virsions.
Well, personly I would use 1.92beta(162)or whatever the number is because you want to be able to use all of the new features. But you should always keep a backup of your quest because I have once lost my progress on my space invasion quest because the file became corupted.

Its build 163 :)
The "safest" version to use is 1.90, but it has less features, and the risks with 1.92 are minimal, if they still even exist.

Okay, I was just wondering about that...what about the translucency issues? Or were those resolved with this beta?

The translucency won't look too great because it's 8-bit. Don't get too excited about it. But it still has its uses.

Hey, it works ok.. it's far superior to the cross hatching we used to have to do to make a transparent effect

A standard uncomplicated level 9 format? Something just tells me that 1.90 will be better to use...after all, the quest will be much smaller.

True. I mainly just use it for lightning, forest overhead (with every other pixel being blank), and shadows cast by certain things. Most other stuff looks horrible in the pallete I use.

Well, thanks for the help guys. I think I'm just going to do an update on Triforce of Courage for now with some of the new features ya know?
