satanman made a post at Think Tank at 2:07pm today. The problem is that when I looked at my clock, the time was 2:06pm

This brings up a question. Is the times that are shown at AGN the same time that's supposed to be on your pc clock, or is it independant, with the only modifyer being the time zone?

I think AGN has it's own clock. Your post has a time of "1:10" and my comp clock says "1:05".

It's based on the server, adjusted for your timezone.

You know, I had the same problem but didn't put much thought into it because i thought it really would not matter.

Well, but my computer clock marks three minutes more than AGN time

Actually, your clock may or may not be more accurate. I've seen server clocks be up to 5 minutes off.

yeah the server clocks have to be accurate too...
the clock where i work is five minutes fast so if i get there on time people yell at me for being late :/

my clock says 8:40 PM EST, let's see what time this gets posted as...

EDIT: wow, on time :D

Mine must be messed up 'cause it says "All times are GMT. The time now is 01:43 am." but it's 8:42PM EST.

GMT in not EST... they are different time zones. Change it through the user cp so that it displays your time zone ;).

The clocks at my school are up to 20 minutes off. The clocks on computers at school are hours off. The clock at my house is on time with DirectTV. My computer clock always finds a way to get up to 30 minutes off despite how much I set it back everyday. AGN time is about 10 minutes ahead of my time.

Thanks, didn't know you could do that.

Whenever I see 2 spies or criminals planning to do something at a certain time but without syncing their watches, i.e. a ransomer wanting the money at exactly 3:00, I wonder how they do it.

1. You might have a CMOS chip.
2. Your flash ROM chip might just really suck.
3. Either you or AGN may have just set the clock wrong, so deal with it.
4. It can be based on when you last refreshed.

Yeah, yeah. I'm being a nerd here, but what OTHER genotype does AGN attract?
