I heard it was when a bunch of IGN Boards members visited at the same time....if it is not that...I think it was a glitch.

Forum Glitch most likely. That or some kind of joke.

Or it could be that some wierdo was able to convince all those people to go on the web at once, but personally, I consider the glitch more likely! Although I can tell you, If that wasn't a glitch, I would've loved to be there! :D

I'm doubting 800 people would be in on something like that though. Most likely the board screwwed up and was count guests more than once or something.

Actually, I don't even think the board would be able to handle that, it would overload likely! I think the maximum it could handle is 100 people.

There is no reason for that. The board should be able to handle over 2000 people easily. It all depends how well it was programmed.

Really? It could? :confuse2:

There is no reason it couldn't, the sotfware itself. It should be able to support something like 10,000+, maybe get cut off at 65,000 or so. I didn't program it though so I don't know.

Theroically, it would be 65536(the max with four hexadecimal numbers, FFFF) or something, but no idea.
And it was a bug..

Oh well, no official explanation was ever given, so we don't know for sure.
