What movie(avi) do you guys have on your computer. I just installed win98 and as far as I can tell it has nothing to view *.avi files with. (Media Player Doesn't seem to work).

There should be something there.

Media player won't play .avis? That's just not right...
If there's anything it should run, it's those. .avi is specifically a Windows video file...
Maybe you just need a codec, or something?

I have windows media player verion 7.1, If you have a version over 7 it should work.

Winamp3 works pretty well for that purpose :).

I've found a great deal of .avi files that were divx encoded, and Windows Media Player seems to have a lot of trouble with that. I downloaded the player from www.divx.com, and it works fine.


While I'm in a similar topic, what do I use to view VCD files? I spent all the time downloading Spider-Man from Grokster, and I have yet to find a player I can view it with. I've tried DVD players, Windows Media Player, the divx player, and none of them work.
