learning german

i was wondering if there are any good books or computer programs to learn german? and about how much do they cost?
i dont have the time to take a class and my highschool only offers french and spanish.

Well, I can tell you that if you don't have time to take a german class you probably don't have time to study german, since they both take up the same amount of time.:confuse2:

its more like it would take me at least one and a half hours to get to where the closest class is being held around me.
