this has probrably been asked a million times before, but i looked through the last 5 or so pages of posts and didnt see it. im runing winXP and i cant get the windows version of the new beta to work. it almost seems like its not gonna load, then it gives me the stupid "send this error report to microsoft" crap. any ideas on how to get it to work?

The windows version works for most people who use XP. The DOS version however has multiple problmes in XP due to XP's shitty DOS emulation.

As for why Gnodab is having so many problems, I can't imagine.

Why do they throw such an...old..system away...DOS was once the ultimate one until Windows had to rape it. And then Windows took over. And Windows sucks since the newer versions dont even have a true DOS system built-in. "Everything you need and more" ~ Computer Salesman who works at the place I bought my new comp that was equiped with XP. Hmph...:glare:

well i downloaded the windows version of ZC and it says im missin "alleg40.dll" or somethin, so can someone help me out?

Try making a fresh install of it, run Zquest-w.exe first, click some things, maybe goto the last part of the menu and play lost woods music. Then exit and try Zelda-w.exe

Sometimes I'd get illegal ops if I didn't run Zquest first.

Well, I'm running 98 and the Windows version won't even start up for me. It just performs an illegal operation and gets shut down...

And Zquest just acts like it's going to run, but doesn't. I can't figure out what's wrong.

If you're trying to run zelda-w and getting crashes, then like Mottzilla was trying to say :), try running *zquest.exe* first, so that the config file gets created. Zelda-w did that for me before doing that. If it's zquest that's doing it, then I don't know.

If zquest is doing it you could try getting another person's ag.cfg file and running.

I was worried too about getting xp because zelda wouldnt work. Guess what it didnt :( But then I got the windows zelda and it works fine (Thank God) :)
