I saw this on a forum somewhere, I can't remeber where though.
When a member posts, there is a small square like those expand and contract boxes in some windows explorer places. This system could be use to efectivly 'remove' the content of peoples posts when viewing threads.

I.E. you are viewing a thread, and say someone posts some explicit text or something, thatyou didn't want ithers (parents/kids/techers ect) to read, you'ed just contract their post and it would only leave a small space showing the members name and the expand box.

A good idea?

it could be. It could also be rather annoying though if you had to do it for every post. Unless it was an option, of course.

Although it would hopefully default to the 'open' position if it was put in. Otherwise, it would be too much of a pain to open up 20 posts, read them, go to next page, open up 20 more posts, read them, go to next page, etc.

Doesn't sound very useful. And It might require ALOT of work to do.
