This is a portion of a National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL REINWALD: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

I went to a camp when I was about seven or so years old. The camp had a rifle range and a trap range, and we were allowed to try our hands at both (even those of us that were seven or so :kawaii: ).

The first time I tried to shoot on the trap range, the 12-gauge knocked me on my backside. But I got up and tried again, and actually managed to hit one of the targets. (My counselor and group mates were worried about the gun beating me up because of my size, and I only got to take five shots.)

As for the rifle range, our counselor put up a soda for the best shooter (including himself). It took me a while to get him to pay up. But the really funny part was the wooden signs about three feet under each target that showed the target numbers. The guy shooting at target #6 somehow managed to shoot the sign. Of target #7.

But in any case, I went and did both of those things, and I didn't become a violent killer. Really, if I wanted to be such a thing, I could get shooting training easily enough anyway. The fact that I have some knowledge of how to shoot a gun does not make me any more violent.

Good comback, that's thinking on your feet.
These news people think they can fluster people on the air but sometimes they get theirs, sad part is they just cut and edit, jerks. Suprised it made it to broadcasting.

:odd: is there a point to over 600 lines of gibberish in Mottzilla sig?
If there is it is lost on me.

That little bitch deserved that comment, maybe more. It's a fact that it's better to know about the proper handling and all that stuff about firearms than to have a lonely kid play violent games all day. Wanna know why?

If your experience with guns is serious and real then it makes an impact. If your experience with it is fun with guns by killing tons of enemies and it's at your fingertips, little socially deprived kids. FUck it, everyone knows what I mean so there's no point.

All I need to say is that the General is right.
