For those who don't know, SFA:DP is a Rare game, starring Fox McCloud, that's coming out in late September (the 23rd for us in the US, I believe). Imagine the engine used in Ocarina of Time, but with a hero with fur. Some pictures:1 (http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.planetgamecube.com/media/017704476.jpg)2 (http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.planetgamecube.com/media/017703388.jpg)3 (http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.planetgamecube.com/media/017704479.jpg)4 (http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.planetgamecube.com/media/017704481.jpg) Official Site (http://www.rareware.com/master_frames/frameset4.html).

So, my question is: Are you psyched? In the controversy over Zelda GC, this game kinda got lost in the shuffle. I want your opinions, hence the poll.

Well, it looks pretty good. I really have to play it first. Hopefully it will be better than Star Fox 64, which, while it was a good game, it could have been better.

This game looks VERY good from the looks of things so far. And if it uses a modified OoT engine, It seems that the gameplay would do well as well.

Plus some stright old skool shooting parts.

This game is gonna rock...

I'm getting it.
It looks awesome, and seems to improve upon a proven engine.

But my sometimes overly annalytical mind wonders where this planet is in relation to the Lylat system.

This and Metroid Prime are why I opted to waste my money on a Lame Cube. Although I think Fox looks like ass it should be a good engrossing well detailed game.

I can't wait for it. I have been waiting for it since it was annoucned, but I can't pre-order and I'll rent it first just in case but I doubt it'll be bad.

It loooks great, and is one of the titles I've very munch been looking forward to. I am somewhat dissapointed Fox will be using a staff instead of his blaster, and it seems like the game will have less of a futuristic feel then the rest of the Star Fox universe, which I am dissapointed in, but it still looks like a true winner.

I've been hyped since I first saw the game, you also get to fly an Arwing.

There is also another Star Fox game coming out for GameCube, a classic Arwing shooter too.

I can't wait for SFA, the game looks really awesome.

I'll look into the new Star Fox. I wonder what the STORY is, since I don't see how... Let's set this as an example... "Star Wars to Indiana Jones"... Oh well, it looks pretty cool.

This is another game I might be pissed at...

1. Where the fuck is Falco!?!!?
2. Better be at least half flying missions as promised, or I will be thoroughly pissed.

But besides those two complaints, it looks bad ass. More psyched about it than Celda. StarFox was my original favorite game and series, and I still love it.

He's gone solo. This takes place almost a decade after StarFox 64, after all. Peppy (cool) and Slippy (if it weren't for the kickass Landmaster we'd all hang 'im) are still around. He might be seen, though - Rare knows how to keep secrets.

If you want flying, go pick up a GBA and grab Iridion 3D and Iridion 3D 2. Not as cool, but it works. I wouldn't like it being half flying mission,s though, because I don't like how they set them up - IMHO, it's too different from SF/SF64.

Strangely enough, this is the first game that's truly got me psyched in the past three years.

Also, Drac, the story is basically that Fox is sent to take care of the Evil General Scales, who is taking over Dinosaur Planet. He gets the magical staff and sets out to kick some ass with a baby triceratops. There's also a blue furry bikini chick, and I kinda wish Meta was around to comment on her ("Krystal" I believe).

[EDIT] About those who wonder how it'll handle, here's some info from Gamers.com (I can't verify this or anything, mind you, and it looks a bit old):

Unlike Ocarina, and its use-every-single-controller-button strategy, Star Fox Adventures singularly emphasizes the GameCube controller's big green button. This is the only action button required in the game! Although Fox carriers multiple utilities, these are assigned to various positions on the camera stick. Need a specific weapon? Push the C-stick to the two o'clock position. Need another accessory? Push it to the three o'clock position. Hopefully such an overly simplified weapon-cycling function won't become a hassle at any point, like the boss battles.

If this were used in, say, OoT, it'd mean you would have about half of the inventory screen on-hand at any moment. Although I cant' say having all of those items on-hand would be useful, maybe the C-Stick will not just contain items, but special moves and actions and whatnot as well. But who knows, eh?

I bet Falco married Katt Monroe....and that's what's up.

Or maybe he comes back in the end...don't know...the StarFox teams is four strong...it just doesn't seem right.

I was told the game was delayed this much to properly integrate a decent amount of levels of Flying.

Supposedly there are a few levels getting there, few levels while on Dino-Planet (traveling, space missions), and a finale return battle.

Maybe Falco's a secret playable character.
With Rare... you never know...

I loved starfox because of it's sweet graphics and gameplay. Lose the flying, and it's just not starfox anymore. However If it's starfox and oot mixed together, it could be interesting.

Mott, why do you have links to the Forum Staff, Moderator Control Panel, and uh...some other forum?

I've got a fairly long video of that on DVD - it looks kickass.
It doesn't show much in the way of flying scenes, and they didn't show any free-roaming flying levels. If they aren't there that's a bit shit, but I AM getting this game...
