Help!!!!

Would anyone by chance know how to get rid of a "write-protected" file. THe damn thing isnt what i was trying to download and i want to get rid of it before someone finds the thing

On Windows...
Right-click the file, choose "Properties", under the "General" tab, uncheck "Read-only" and "System". Then delete.
